INSTALL

   1 Fontconfig is built with the traditional configure script:

   3         $ ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man

   5 This should generate valid Makefiles, then:

  10 If you're going to package fontconfig for release, there are several
  11 important steps:

  14                 configure.in
  15                 fontconfig/fontconfig.h
  16  2.     Fix the README
  17                 Change version number
  18                 Set the date
  19  3.     Commit those changes
  20  4.     make checkdist
  21  5.     tag the tree
  22                 cvs tag fc-2_2_xx
  23  6.     Split out the ChangeLog into ChangeLog-2.2.xx with
  24         the changes since the previous release
  25  7.     Copy ChangeLog-2.2.xx and fontconfig-2.2.xx.tar.gz to
  26         freedesktop.org:~fontconfig/public_html/release
  27  8.     Update the Fontconfig Devel wiki page
  28         http://freedesktop.org/Software/FontconfigDevel
  29  9.     Post a note to fontconfig@fontconfig.org
